SINGLE/DOUBLE RACING/RECREATIONAL SHELLS, SINGLE/TANDEM KAYAKS/CANOES, SINGLE/DOUBLE FIXED-SEAT ROWBOATS, FIVE-OARED WHALEBOATS WITH COX
Races will start and finish near the mouth of the Slocum River (nearby the Lloyd Center’s new pier and dock) and traverse a two-mile closed-loop buoyed course on the tidal waters of one of New England’s most beautiful estuaries.
Registration (mandatory for all entries) will be held on race-day from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. at Demarest Lloyd State Park, Barney’s Joy Road, Dartmouth (MA). Final launching-site alternatives are weather-dependent and will be announced on-line at www.slocumregatta.org and at Registration. Competition will start promptly at 9:30 a.m.
Award Ceremony and light refreshments will follow shortly after noon at the Lloyd Center (430 Potomska Road, Dartmouth). Medals will be awarded to all competitors in entries (boats) which post the fastest time in their Event-Division (race). Each of the following 28 Events will be divided into a “Youth Division”, a “Master Division”, and an “Elite Division” (order and starting-times will be finalized on Thursday, 18 September and posted on-line, Friday, 19 September):
